A Bold Blue Big Kid Room with Plenty of Room to Grow

Designing a child’s room is always a special challenge—it needs to be fun and playful but also thoughtful and functional. For this project, we created a space that transitions our young client from toddlerhood to his grade school years, reflecting his love for space and sense of adventure. The goal? A big boy room that feels imaginative and inspiring while still being cohesive and put together.

We leaned into a rich blue palette to set the tone for the space. The walls feature "Stiffkey Blue" paint from Farrow & Ball, grounding the room with depth and sophistication. To add movement and playfulness, we incorporated blue striped wallpaper—bringing in pattern and visual interest while staying timeless. As always, The Shade Store provided the perfect window treatments, seamlessly tying the design together with a polished yet practical finish.

With plenty of storage for toys and a layout designed for both play and creativity, this room is ready to grow with its young explorer.
